Despite all you’re cleaning efforts and maintenance, no matter how many times you vacuum or clean your carpets.  You will eventually know when it’s time to replace your carpets or rugs.  There’s no way around it.  It will start looking worn-out and the fibers will not pop back up.  Many years of wear and tear cannot keep your carpets looking new any longer.

Some signs of aging:

Balding:  Synthetic carpet made of Olefin is known to flatten faster than other materials and attract dirt easily because of its inherent oily nature. This type of carpet material typically needs replacement more frequently than the costlier material like those made of Nylon which is more stain resistant and do not mat down as easily.  Some stains on carpet are impossible to remove despite after numerous professional cleaning because the nature of the stain could be those that integrate into the fiber easily thus become permanent mark. When your carpet is not only badly stained but also torn because of wear and tear, no amount of professional cleaning and repairing can salvage its frail condition.

Padding:  if you notice unevenness, wrinkles or crinkling sound in your carpets that it might be time to replace your carpets.  The padding serves as additional protection to absorb impact from our feet when walking over so the carpet will not wear out quickly.  Padding is replaced most time with your carpets but at times you might need t replace the padding first.

Lifespan: old age like discoloration or color fading, flattened carpet pile because carpet padding is already worn out, wrinkles at the edge of your carpet against the wall is a true trail sign.

Excessive stains:  Most carpets come with a stain-resistant finish, but over time the treatment fades, and eventually leaves the carpets unprotected. Most professional carpet cleaners know tricks of the trade to remove the stains.  But over time that might not be enough.

Odor:  If you are constantly spraying air freshener or lighting candles then you might have a deeper issue.  Padding is absorbed with odor so much you cannot hide it any longer.  Only way to remove the odor permanently is to replace you carpet or padding.

These are some reasons that you might need to replace your carpets or padding.  True fully you will know when it’s time for you to replace your carpets or rugs. You can see the difference and smell in the long run.
